Single bed recommendations for a 3 year old
E's in a cot bed at the moment (without the sides) but we want to get him something bigger and frankly being lazy and can't be bothered to trawl round the shops with them or the net

Can anyone recommend a decent single bed which is low enough for a toddler but will last for a good few years of growth? We looked in ikea but L bolted into the kitchen dept so had to evict

Re: Single bed recommendations for a 3 year old
My DD had an extendable toddler bed from ikea. It was the White metal one, which might be a bit girly for Evan though. It lasted her until she was 7 as I bought a high sleeper I am hoping that by the time DS gets to 7, he can have the high sleeper.

Re: Single bed recommendations for a 3 year old
I'm tight so have gone straight from a cot to a full sized single bed. Millie has a metal daybed from Laura Ashley and I have bought a single bed for Ollie's bedroom as it will double as our spare room. We went for the Noah bed from Feather and Black. It has a trundle underneath and will hopefully last a very long time. We bought it during a sale and I think we got 40% off.

snap with claireh and the noah bed - well rather we bought the bunk beds which convert into 2 single beds. we assembled one with the guard rail from the top bunk and s went straight into that from a cot.

Re: Single bed recommendations for a 3 year old
O1 went straight from cosleeping with us into the Ikea Odda bed at the age of 2 1/2. It is higher than a normal single but we got him some steps to go up. We added a bed rail and he still has it as he's a right fidget in bed.

Re: Single bed recommendations for a 3 year old
YOu can build it two ways, one way so it is a single bed with a high canopy, and the other as you see in the pic, with a medium height bunk and you can put a mattress on the floor for the lower bunk, or just leave it for storage/playing/hiding etc as we have. We will get a matress for the lower level when they are old enough for sleepovers. Mine both have this bed (so 2yrs and 6yrs) and both love it, all their friends think its really cool so it will last age wise as well. This is how you have it the other way, but DS2 wasn't falling for it, he wanted it the high way
