Broken toe - recovery time?
Pretty sure that a couple of weeks ago I broke my toe (stubbed it badly then B trod on it just to make sure
). Didn't bother going up to A&E for an x-ray as it would be a waste of time but from the pain, swollen toe and nice colour it went I'm presuming it was broken or badly sprained. Strapped it up, took lots of ibuprofen and cursed myself for being so clumsy
2 weeks on, I can walk without limping too much and can just about get shoes on that have lots of room in the toe section. Still throbbing quite a lot by the end of the day though. How long do these things take to heal? I'm a bit frustrated I can't do much exercise apart from upper body strength training but right now I don't think I could manage much else as it would hurt too much.
I'm such an idiot!

Took about 6 weeks before my big toe was completely better. About 3 / 4 weeks when I did something similar with my little toe. ( clumsy, me?
)

Re: Broken toe - recovery time?
I'm 99% sure I broke my big toe last year. It was well over a month before mine stopped hurting when I walked & a year later it's still very sore if stepped on & I can't bend it at all so I think I might have done something to the joint.

Hi Lilybett, how is your toe this week. I ended up going for an xray last week and my big toe is broken, they said to expect some level of pain/discomfort for 10/12 weeks
and there is nothing they can do about it
I feel an idiot as well, just at the start of the summer holidays!!! Hope your toe is feeling a bit better xx

Ouch, poor you Rosa
Mine is the one next to my little toe so not so important for balance/walking. It's getting better, still aches by the end of the day and hurts in shoes (I had to put small heels on for a funeral on Monday and it was a form of torture, spent the whole day popping ibuprofen and slipping my shoe off whenever I could!) but it is easing. Hopefully by the beginning of the summer holidays it will be back to normal!
