So we've been told (unofficially) to take them out of school for the day, if we want, so they can all experience it. Seems sensible to me. If only it would stop raining....
You can't be too far from me I presume as it passes the top of my street on Monday at about 5.30pm

I was in Newcastle on Thursday and it was pure hell trying to drive through due to all the roads being bollarded.
It comes through our town on Wednesday afternoon. DS2 and DD schools are both shut whereas DS1 who is at school in the next town over isnt. I did ring them to see what they had planned as the roads are all shut from 2 - 5 and was told they werent shutting as parents complain. DS1 has gcse exmas on the afternoon so I cant eve take himout early.

A bit north, I think. We'll be going to Pickering to see the torch. But I grew up very close to you - I could see the Humber Bridge from my childhood bedroom.

My mum can see the Humber Bridge from her bedroom, but she's on the 16th floor of a tower block so she can see for quite a distance.X

complete fluke while on hol in Wales as it came through the town we went to for a day at complete random! I really enjoyed it I must admit as there were lots of ncie looking (apparently famous) fella in Welsh rugby strips Kids liked it though I think DS1 was the only one who 'got' anything more than the atmosphere. Our olympics tickets arrived Fri though and i felt properly excited for the first time!

We saw it this evening. Got a fab pic of the kids with the young torch bearer. We were stood right at the change over point, right at the front. Dh got a once in a lifetime photo of the 2 torches at the change, both lit. It was amazing.
