    Earning extra money at home?

    Hi,

I need to find a way to earn some extra money (not a huge amount - £150-£200 a month would be brilliant) to help us through a difficult period. The only problem being that I'm 26wks pg and no one will consider giving me a 'job'. I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways of earning some extra cash from home - I'm happy to do pretty much anything; stuffing envelopes, populating databases etc but don't really know where to start to find something.

Any advice or help would be gratefully recieved.

    Thank you.

Have you had a look at your local gumtree? mine often has ads for home working, no idea how legit they are but I know a few people who do virtual PA work.

Do you have any skills you could market? making things? therapies etc?

A while ago I got some data processing work from the local Uni, where I had to install a programme and enter loads of test results for the students, maybe worth asking there.

Kantar Media are always on to me to do market research. Either online or over the phone can be time consuming but they send cash in the mail (other survey companies tend to send vouchers which is nice but not as useful).

Would the local temp agencies have anything?

    Good luck!

Depends how you are with standing on your feet a lot, but I run an ironing business from home so you could consider that? Mine has been going for three years so I am very busy, but if you put some cards up in local newsagents etc I am sure you'd get some business. I do the collections and drop-offs myself but unless you live somewhere really remote I am sure customers would be happy to come to you (I get some who prefer to come to me rather than me to them).

I am in Oz, but a lot of people do the parties. Where you get someone to invite the seller around and have some nibbles. It can fit in with school hours or evenings.
It's not my kind of thing but it's very popular here - tupperware, books, cleaning products etc.

Thanks all - lots of things to think about.

I've been working as a virtual PA for a while now but am really struggling to find work and so am looking to add some other strings to my bow. I'd happily do ironing and will investigate that idea further - I know of a couple of people locally who used to do ironing, but I haven't 'seen' them advertising recently so maybe they've thrown the towel in (arf arf) which could work in my favour.

Will have a look at your link shortly Jelly.

    Thanks again.

I think this is worth a shot. I've seen ads wanting people for a few weeks of data entry, for example. Good luck!

Saffy - no new ideas but wanted to wish you good luck! If you were here, I'd say start a dogwalking business - they are everywhere!
