Having a blank - fundraising ideas..?
I'm having a total bloody mind blank. I can't believe I'm being this vacant...help.
I need to raise approx £1.5k for charity - long story - but I can't for the life of me think of anything at all that's not completely RUBBISH or been done to death.
Anyone have any innovative ideas for fundraising? Pleeeze?

Re: Having a blank - fundraising ideas..?
My OH cousin has raised a small fortune by selling hoodies for charity. I think people tend to be more into donating when they get something back so selling something is a good way to go if you can. Especially something with a big margin!

Perhaps knowing the name of the charity would help churn ideas?
Some of the most obvious or typical fundraisers include food, sport, health&beauty, others offering their time to give lessons for example.libertygal

Off the top of my head...
coffee mornings
teddy tombola stalls at local craft fairs/school fete's/
Sponsored event (either take part or organise a sponsored toddle or something)
Or if the charity is registered it can sign up with ebay (via missionfish) where supporters can sell their items and the money (or a % of it) goes to charity.

Re: Having a blank - fundraising ideas..?
If there is a decent car boot near you then ask friends and family to donate things to sell. It gets rid of their junk and doesn't cost them to help the charity.
In the past I have done collections in pubs (shaking charity boxes), organised a gig (had a raffle on the night, prizes donated by companies), car boots as mentioned, cake sales at church, written begging letters to companies, etc.
Would it be a cause that a local school or group such as Brownies might be able to help? Perhaps they could do a sponsored event. DDs dancing have supported the Red Cross this year.DS July 2003, DD1 January 2005, DD2 August 2008

Re: Having a blank - fundraising ideas..?
I did a fundraiser recently with a local restaurant - they are quiet on Monday evenings, so are prepared to sell you tkts for £15 for 3 courses, which we then sold out at £25, making £10 per head. We also did a raffle on the night.
Was a really simple way to make money, very chilled, everyone had a great night. Worth asking any local restaurants if they would do the same on a quiet night, was easy for them as it was a set menu, and they made lots on the drinks
