Re: SATs - a parents guide?
They are 'tasks and tests' to supplement the teacher's assessment and can be done at any time during year 2. We weren't told about DD doing them, but she realised because they had to do work with no talking. They weren't overly formal though and although they did a practice one a few weeks earlier the children were just told it was to check that the teacher was giving them the right work and the right reading books. I am really curious to get her school report though because with DS I knew how he was doing adn with DD I have no clue. She is not particularly consistent and if they were just relying on a particular test she would vary greatly depending on which day they did it. Hopefully the teacher assessment will give a rough average!
