Need Shoes for work - smart casual. Any ideas?

I start my new job in 2 weeks and am in need of some shoes to wear. The dress code is smart casual, and I will be mostly wearing trousers. I would prefer flats or a low heel but am otherwise a bit stumped.

What do you wear for smart/casual work? I am a size 7/8 and have stupidly wide feet.

A mid-height wedge looks smarter and give you a better 'I'm going to work' feeling than flat pumps or shoes I think, but are comfy enough to wear all day.

Loafers look smart too if you really do want flats, but I'm not sure if they're fashionable .

M&S are good for wide-fitting shoes, and Clarks. I have wide, square feet and struggle to get anything comfy elsewhere.

I have white Hush Puppy ones and black Clarks versions both in soft leather. Very comfy.

I wear ballet flats but since I banjoed my ankle I've been alternating between very support white running shoes and flip flops .

Ballet flats can be made a little smarter. I normally wear pointy ones and hardly ever wear the squidgy ones if that makes sense!

This is my current favourite pair from Zara but in black
