I don't think I would ever have a problem telling people I met my partner online at all (if I find one lol). And I don't mind people knowing I am on POF.

I agree that you have to be open minded when chatting to people. Photos are important but I put more importance on the bit where they write about themselves. I am chatting to a bloke at the moment whose photo isn't all that but his profile made me laugh and his messages have been funny so we shall see. I haven't been on a 'date' for around 13 years. I will be petrified!

You do get more reaction if you put a photo up, but some people don't for very different reasons. When I started talking to Joe he didn't have a photo up but did send me one as soon as I asked, despite that he had a hangover LOL

I also think that if they take too long to suggest a meeting or exchange phone numbers then they are just playing 'online girlfriend or pocket girlfriend'
Great news though that so many of you are getting out there and having a wee go. It can be so daunting but there are some nice ones out there and even if it only means coffee or a dinner, its better than sitting at home of an evening
