Re: FINALLY I have found a diet I can stick to & the weight is falling off
I disagree CH. I started a paleo diet last year and I am not a massive meat fan and I hated greens. The first few weeks were hard but I have started to love all the things I used to hate. I ate half a head of broccoli with my tea last night and enjoyed it, I NEVER thought I'd say that! If there was even a smidgen of it on my plate or in soup before I could sniff it out and the thought of it would give me the boke.
I think its like the feeding children mantra, if you have things enough you can grow to like them. Yes there are things you are never going to like but its worth trying more things.

I totally agree with this. It's 'easy' to like commercial products loaded with sugar and salt but it sometimes takes more perseverance to like other things. Once you've trained your palate though, you'll wonder how you could ever have eaten a donut or a bag of cheese and onion crisps

It pays off to persevere though, because once you've lost the weight you'll want to keep it off and the only way to keep weight off is by changing the way you eat permanently. If not, it'll all creep back on again (and then some probably). My blog thehealthyepicurean.eu

Absolutely agree. I remember when I stopped buying jars of pasta sauces, curry sauce, etc. The homemade versions seemed bland on comparison. Now I can't stand jars of pasta sauce, they seem so sweet and over flavoured. I am the same with shop bought cakes, they taste synthetic as I am used to home made.
I've made a rod for my own back as my children ate homemade food from weaning age. They will now eat very little processed food as they don't have the taste for it. It is a pain in the bum when I need a quick meal for them.DS July 2003, DD1 January 2005, DD2 August 2008

Re: FINALLY I have found a diet I can stick to & the weight is falling off
CH - spurred on by this thread I started the Dukan diet and am loving it. I am getting on really well, have loads of energy and am feeling really positive about it all. Fingers crossed I can carry on and stick to it (aim to be goal weight by my 40th birthday in November).
Thanks Hun for the introduction and inspiration! Hope you are still doing well! X

I started this last Monday and am doing a rather loose form of the Attack phase, lol. I have been having the odd gin and slim but no obvious carbs. Atkins bars have been my savior though I know they're not strictly allowed....so ten days in and I'm 5lbs down.

Re: FINALLY I have found a diet I can stick to & the weight is falling off
I am on my 7th day of attack (last one before moving to Cruise) and have lost 6lbs. Birthday in November this year and probably 30lbs to lose. To be honest it has been so long since I was anywhere near my target weight that I don't know specifically what is my ideal weight, so will know when I get there!
