Derby fire - mother and father arrested on suspicion of murder.

Gosh, that is shocking Innocent until proven guilty and all that. An awful tragedy whichever way you look at it.

Arrested doesn't mean they've done anything. Two others were arrested at the start to help police with their enquiries and were released without charge. (I'm remembering the creepy looking but ultimately innocent landlord who was wrongly arrested for murder of his female neighbour 2 Xmases ago).

It is horrific what happened to those kids.

I must admit though that whenever I see a press conference and someone really tearful, I wonder if the police are up to something, trying to trick a suspect. I know it is a tactic they use as they get the criminal psychologists in to read the body language of the suspect.

One of the photos I saw of the press conference stayed with me due to the look on the policemans face as he looked at them there was just something about it that was uncomfortable ,cant explain it il see if i can find a link to it ,link added 2nd pic down http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...alks-time.html I was starting to wonder about things when they took the caravan away and said that the parents had both been sleeping in it that night ,it kinda made me question things ,I dunno its horrible anyway no matter who did it but if it was them ,i just cant get my head round it

Viv, I think I remember that photo - kind of side on? The Police were initially quite cagey about saying where the parents where when the fire broke out, which did make me think they might have been suspicious from the off. And the many pleas to the community to come forward with information. But that's their job. Suspecting everyone isn't great but most murders are committed by someone the victim knows so they do tend to start with people who are close.

We can only hope that the perpetrator is caught and prosecuted soon, whoever that may be, and that their intent was to damage the house rather than harm the children. It's difficult to imagine that this was the outcome they had planned.

Derby is not a very happy place to be at the moment. Those poor kids, then today was Lewis Mighty's funeral.

The police are saying the fact that they've been arrested does not mean the investigation is by any means over. I don't know what to think.

It's entirely possible that they've been arrested for some other reason - neglect perhaps, if it's true they were sleeping the caravan that night.
