    i don't have a proper BBQ as i stay in a flat BUT i do alot of BBQing for friends and family...
    i normally make my own burgers,steak, chicken kebabs, i do butterfly prawns with chilli garlic... potato salad with sourcream/chive/boiled egg in it.
    for desert, which always goes down a treat is ...

    fresh pinapple slices dipped in brown sugar and cooked on the BBQ
    banana cut into 3 pieces and wrapped in streaky bacon, dipped in maple syryp and cooked on the BBQ - sounds disgusting, but its deliscious xxx

    Ours is a Weber chimney! Like Rosa says, you put paper in then the coals on top, then light the paper. When the coals have turned grey you empty them into the barbie. We often add some charcoal at that point as well.

    We have a Weber kebab rack as well which is really useful, and the six metal kebab scewers are flat not round so the food doesn't roll over when you turn them.
