Anyone like to help me accessorise this dress (twice)?

    Please

So its this navy maxi dress from Dotty P’s which is much nicer in the flesh that online! I’m on a budget so I’m looking at cheap and cheerful…

    [IMG][/IMG]

First, I’m wearing it to my brother’s wedding but think I am nearly sorted for that with bright pink shoes/sandals (have found some wedges in New Look) and a bright pink fascinator on a clip in my hair (which is blonde and I’m wearing it in a side messy bun). No need for a handbag as I’ll have a bag on me for my LO’s change of clothes, wet wipes, toys etc… I would like to cover the tops of my arms but not sure if a pink shrug/bolero would be too much with the other pink stuff? I have seen a couple of navy bolero’s/shrugs. or I do have a bright pink wrap from a previous wedding

Then I’m wearing it to a dinner at a local posh hotel. There is no dress code as such (apart from lounge suits for the men) and from previous experience there will be a mix of women wearing little black dresses and women in floaty dresses, but I don’t want to look like I’m going to a wedding IYKWIM, I want to look more ‘eveningy’, which is where I’m stuck…I’ll wear my hair down probably, its bra strap length, and no fascinator.

    TIA

For the evening I would probably play it safe and do black clutch, black sparkly shoes/sandals and black sparkly jewellery xxx

Its a navy background though, not quite as dark as this pic, do you reckon black would go??

I think you'd get away with black, especially of its sandals.

Alternatively what about gold or another metallic colour?

I would go for lots of gold bangles, some big gold earrings, nice clutch and depending on the length some wedges or flat sandals

I like the shape of the dress and I can see what you mean about feelin too weddingy in it for an evening function.

First off I don't think a pink bolero would be too much for your bro's wedding. Def think that wedges are a better choice than heels, I always think a maxi needs a more substantial shoe.

For the evening do I think a black wedge maybe with a bit of studded type of detail and a studded black clutch to "give it an edge". Or have you thought About wearing the pink bolero and pink wedges with a different dress you may already have, maybe an LBD lurking I your wardrobe somewhere?

    Hey DC

    Only just seen this sorry!

I am def going with a pink bolero//shrug if I can find one and I have the pink wedges and pink fascinator for my hair

After seeing what the other girls are wearing to this evening do thing Ive changed my mind and am wearing a Monsoon dress I bought for a black tie wedding a few years ago, I think it will do the job!

I am really not a dress person, they are for weddings only AFAIAC, so I don't really have a LBD stored away anywhere
