My 1950s life would have been the same as my life now. I even wear slacks, but at least now I can wear them with a knowing retro smugness, not just because they're dead comfy and easier to iron than jeans

To give the BBC credit where it's due, they have put a full-time parent option on (and taken the comment option off ...) so the power of social media does work
