Re: When were you back in your normal (non-mat) clothes?

Within about a week I think but they had to be comfy ones, dresses, loose trousers etc

I didn't actually buy maternity clothes as I just wore size 14 jeans and they fitted pretty well around my bump and I was back in my regular size clothes within around a week.....but it is back to the whole how long is a piece of string as it depends on a lot of factors, not least how much weight you've put on during pregnancy.

If You're uncomfortable buy something. I got some yoga type pants when I was about 35wks & she was born at 37, but they were so comfy, I lived in them. I thought I'd be able to eBay them but I wore them to death!
I stayed in none maternity jeans throughout (hair bobble around the button!), and put on about the same as you.
Skirts with elasticated waist might work? And if you don't get a lot of wear I'm sure you could sell them on (as they'd be in good condition).

I was an 8-10 pre preg. After I gave birth I was in size 14-16 trackies and loose stuff for a few weeks, then moved into size 12 everything. Have since been battling to get into my size 10 clothes (sometimes winning that battle sometimes creeping up and back into size 12 again. I'm not the same shape/metabolism as before!!!).

I was a 'pinger' both times - pinged back to my usual size in about a day.

But I agree with everyone else, get yourself at least a couple of things to wear while it's so hot - when I was pg with DS1, who was born at the beginning of June (20 years ago!) we had a similar heatwave at the end of May, and I had to get a couple of floaty dresses - they weren't maternity, just a sort of empire style that fitted over the bump.
