Deleting old programme files help please

I'm trying to free up some space on my laptop and want to delete programme files relating to an old printer and sykpe BUT it wont let me, saying I need permission to delete those.

Have you tried CCleaner? I heard it recommended by the Gadget Guru on LBC Radio and it's great.

c cleaner is good.

It depends how it was set up. OH usually does mine, but for things like deleting programs he has to log in as admin.

Log in as an adminstrator then you probably won't need to download anything...mind you I have a file on my laptop that I want to delete and i can't even find the file - it has hidden itself so may try that c cleaner!

Maybe you need to remove the either a read only or hidden attribute? I think I'd try going into the relevant folder (directory) at the command prompt and try typing in 'attrib -h -r' and then the relevant filename plus extension
