and the coverage is fine, but yes, it is wasteful when so much is absorbed into the sponge and ends up on my fingers rather than my face! Wouldn't soaking the sponge in water affect the consistency of the foundation? I'll have to try it I guess

I'm intrigued by foundation brushes though. I'm just not convinced they'd work well with my foundation (Revlon ColourStay).

I think the more dense ones are what people think about when they think of make up sponges. The ones I am talking about are probably more like a body sponge (more dense but not like a thick block of rubber) so can be wet without dripping water on your face (well thats the impression I got anyway!)

Foundation brushes are really good, I used a stippling one with Revlon Photofinish and it buffs in really well so worth a try. The Body Shop ones are good to start and they nearly always have a code so you can get them cheaply

I just noticed on the video link you posted, she is not using one of the expensive 'beauty blender' sponges.

The one she uses is by cosmopoliton and you can buy this in Superdrug

    here

A much more cost effective one.

This is what i was just going to say, i use the Cosmopolitan one, spray with water lightly first and with a cream foundation is it ace!
I don't like it so much with my Chanel Aqualumiere foundation though, prefer a buffing brush with that.

Thanks for the recommendation! Good luck with the funky pink sponge (quite tempted by that myself)
