When is a reasonable time to mow??
This is my scintillating contribution thread-wise today

I was going to mow this morning but DH said he thought it was a bit early. Being hnoest, I hadn't even thought about it, but then 'yeah actually it is pretty noisy and there are lots of houses around' so I left it. But what time do you think would be ok to mow in the morning? Same at weekends or earlier on week days?
I even pondered if there would be a pm cut off but figured it would be dark by 10ish pm anyway even in summer. Unless you were floodlit mowing
bet everyone's missed my amazing contributions

Re: When is a reasonable time to mow??
I'm not sure raelly but I suspect before 8am might be unreasonable at the weekend and maybe 7.30am in the week?
I know alst year out neighbour was out mowing theirs well after 10pm one night and I thought that was a bit late - its light here until after 11pm on the longest days.

Re: When is a reasonable time to mow??
If it were me I would not do it before 9am or after 8pm probably. I know my neighbours' little girls' room overlooks our garden and they can be in bed at 7 so I would be bearing that in mind on a school night. I would leave it a bit later than 9am on a sunday too, maybe until 10.

Re: When is a reasonable time to mow??
I would say around 9am is early enough to start - and not after 8ish at night, and that is including weekends!

Re: When is a reasonable time to mow??
I agree with bubbasweet; lots of people seem to do it when they get back from work at about 7, and I think that's fine. Not before 9 though!
In fact our lawn still has dew on it until about 9 at the moment; I'd want to wait till it was dry anywayFifi x

Re: When is a reasonable time to mow??
I would say 8am weekdays probably 9am weekends, not that we do it at that time

After 8am any day is fine IMO. I object to evening grass cutting, my neighbour sometimes gets his lawn mower out at 945pm (yes, really) on summer evenings and that really annoys me, because it stops me watching the telly

DH and I have had loads of conversations about how weird it is that he gets it out so late at night. The consensus is that he's avoiding his wife!
