Yes, I did have priority last week. And no, didn't get any. Everything I tried for was "unavailable", and all but the most expensive sold out in minutes.

Yes, there has been much speculation on twitter about how many of these have actually been sold...

From my own experience I got 2 childrens tickets and a wheelchair space but that was for football at Newcastle

. My sister got 2 childrens tickets for rowing (she was very lucky though - only applied for 3 things in the ballot and got one of them

I must've got lucky then. Im not holding out much hope for anything else on Wednesday.

I'm really surprised, we got our tickets then really easily, DH didn't look until they'd been up for a couple of hours as he hadn't realised more had become available. We got kids tickets too, £7 for DD1 and £10 for DD2

The Paralympic tickets are still fairly available I think

I think if I was still in London I would be feeling a mixture of excitement and pain.

I know that at my old work we started attending planning meetings from November last year - the deliveries into and out of Central London are going to be difficult to say the least. Yet, I'd be feeling excited about such a fabulous event happening on home soil. I'd rather the Olympics than the unpredicatability of the riots I had to worry about last August.

My DH put together the design team (ie architects and his engineering firm) and built one of the event venues and he didn't manage to get tickets for any of the events, either at his venue or elsewhere. We only applied online and now we are not living in London anyway but he would love to come back and see his venue in action.

My NYC friends have Olympic tickets which we found surprising but we probably didn't apply for enough tickets to warrant being allocated them.

I'm not particularly sporty although I come from a country which is

and I think the Olympics is a fantastic opportunity to encourage sport in young people, am I being idealistic, the idea of working hard and representing your country. I hope there will be opportunities for people to train for the next Oluympics on the back of having such world-class facilities. That said, I hope they won't be demoralised by lack of availability to see the events, meet their potential heros, use of said facilities, etc.

I thought that London schools would be given the opportunity (sorry third time I've used that word in two paragraphs!) to fill empty seats at children's prices. Maybe that was my wishful thinking.

Skipping Girl, not sure if you are eligible to buy through them now but if you are then it may be worth checking out the Canadian Olympic ticket reseller, Cosport. They appear to have a few tickets at the moment and they are likely to have a few more over the coming weeks as they release tickets from packages (they last added new tickets to the site a couple of weeks ago AFAIR).

Pretty indifferent to the actual Olympics, DH usually likes to watch the athletics, swimming and martial arts. (Although it's usually the women's athletics and swimming

). But the torch is coming around the corner from our house on 1st June so I'll be taking the kids out to see it.
