Re: How do you feel about the olympics?

I don't normally have any interest in the Olympics and this year is no different.

I am not at all excited BUT it's a historic event so I am 'faking it til I make it'. I'll take the kids to see the torch and will try to watch some of it.

Zilcho interest from me.. although I was curious to see how they brought the massive olympic flame over on the plane didn't realise it was the tiny lantern thing

I sat for an hour every day trying everything. I don't know how many tickets were actually on sale but everything I tried came up as unavailable There were some very expensive ones left- the £300+ for a preliminary round, but I couldn't justify that for an hour and a half.

So I doubt there'll be much available in the general sales

I am also interested to know how many people actually got children's price tickets. We applied for loads in this first round. Again I get the feeling they will be selling the full price tickets first, and you'll only get your £7 child ticket if there's any seats unsold.

Re: How do you feel about the olympics?

I generally try to catch some of the gymnastics & will definitely do so this year as E is is into gymnastics so she'll like watching it. But other than that I don't really bother.

I'm not a big fan of the fact the a lot of money has gone on hosting it and |I'm not sure if the economy will get it back or that my daughter's gymnastics classes will be disrupted because one of the teams will be training where she does gym classes.

Overall I'm not a huge fan, but I quite like them.

Oh & a Camille's Appeal representative will be carrying the torch for part of it's journey this year, so that's good.

    It's just glorified P.E. really isn't it?

I'll tune in the Opening ceremony though just to see who that wheel out for that one.

I'm sick of all the London/Olympics/Union Jack merchandise that is every where. The clothes shops especially are full of naff items at the moment.

No, I dont think it is. Its a lifetime of training for some people.

I am sort of looking forward to it, I enjoy watching it on tv. My OH cousin is a torch bearer in our town so we are going to support her doing that. I think the torch relay definitely seems to be having a positive impact on communities.

This is Han for anyone interested

If you didnt get any tickets in the first two rounds you should have had priority a week and a half ago to get tickets before they go on general sale at 11am this Wednesday.

I applied for quite a few different events in the first round and didnt get any, applied for 1 event in the second round and didnt get it, so purchased some the week before last.
