Re: BF still going strong :) Couple of q's about going back to work & cont BF..
Tell her your 'friend' (me!) is still BF-ing her daughter at 14 months...

I went back to work when DD was 11 months and she would not drink expressed milk at all, just spat it out!
She managed on water, milk in food and waiting for me to come home on occasion. I know your DD is a little younger, but there's usually some way round it. DH was all set to bring DD up to work on my break for me to feed her too, but it never came to it.

Thanks Scatterbrain & Lazy! Great to hear your success stories
Well, all of your replies has made me feel much more reassured about it all tbh. I wasn't worried per se but just a little apprehensive as to whether or not DD would be ok with, possibly, less feeds.
There have bee some great tips and advice and I really appreciate it, its nice to hear both sides of the coin!
My 'friend' is very nearly a fully trained RGN so I was very surprised by her reaction. I'm waiting for her next little comment and I will be armed with a response then
Thanks very much all.

Congrats on feeding for this long!
DD wouldn't take a bottle either
I fed her before drop off and the second I picked her up and she cluster fed like crazy. She also has a lot of milk-based food during the day. It was a bit weird as both DSs took a bottle fine but she was just having none of it. I didn't give up though and she is in the process of self-weaning (15 months). She is weird and now feeds every couple of days
Whatever it doesn't bother me so happy to go with what she wants!
no matter how far you have travelled down the wrong road, you can always turn around.

It'll more than likely work out. Just give milk based food during the day if she won't take a bottle. Wallopette used to be given a yogurt at nursery as she wasn't having a bottle. If you're still feeding quite a bit outside of work then your supply should be okay without having to express. You could always try drinking more and eating oat based snacks if you think your supply needs a boost.

I usually reply with when ever we're ready and we're not ready yet. They say it as if its some kind of burden. One friend even tutted after asking if I was still feeding Lilly at 4 months. I wish I had a quick witted response to her but unfortunately I was in such disbelief I didn't know how to react!
