    Re: Eurodisney - who's been, who's going?

We went out of season too (January) and the longest we queued was 45 minutes in the Princess Pavillion. Even on the big popular rides, it took longer to walk through the queuing systems than to actually queue

It was cold, but we bought thermals, fleeces and ski coats so we were fine.

The only thing we found was that there was a lot of building work and a lot of closed rides (although a lot of it was preparaing for the 20th anniversary celebrations)

And yes, the dressing up stuff was all about 60+ euros, so I'd buy it here and take it with you

Me me me, We're off on our EuroTrip on Friday (mega excited now) and we'll be there next week. Not sure what dau we are going but as we'll be in Paris from Monday till Friday it will be one of the days lol.

We haven't told the kids, Mark has problems controlling excitement and is bad enough with just the holiday so we're just gonna take a 'daytrip' and see if the can guess where we go.

We're going to go at Easter next year. Going to stay at a Eurocamp site in Paris and then get the train to the park for two days.

Are they OK with taking your own food in? I canNOT afford to go if we have to buy food from the concessions.

Where are you staying, White Rose? The campsite we are planning on going to doesn't have a pool and I would like one really.

    Re: Eurodisney - who's been, who's going?

Well, we're back and we had a fabulous time, really good fun and DD is now a complete adrenaline junkie. She spent 3 days muttering "Feel the fear and do it anyway..."

Ruby, they turned a blind eye to taking food in. We did what everyone else seems to do and made rolls at breakfast. We did get asked what it was at the bag check, replied it was lunch and the most comment we got was the bag checker saying "Lovely, thanks!" then letting us through.

The Cheyenne was pretty good for a budget hotel even though breakfast was crazy. On the second day though we had breakfast at the Plaza gardens which was much nicer.

We didn't bother with any of the character dining (the kids are still scarred by a very bad encounter with Ronald MacDonald and not really interested) so we ended up eating at King Ludvig's Castle and Planet Hollywood. If I go again I want to try the Blue Lagoon which looked lovely.

DS wasn't up for any of the bigger rides so we had to do a lot of child swaps. Some rides are more geared up to this than others. Rock and Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain were all good for it. Crush Coaster queuing system was rubbish and we got told by one person to take him into the queue then told off by another for doing so! Great ride though.

The Disney Dreams show was lovely and well worth staying late for and don't miss the dragon under the castle!

If you are planning walking back to the hotel, don't try and take a short cut and avoid the crowds, Walking past the car parks is not a short cut, it's a 2 mile round trip with a disgusted 5 year old asking you if you've learned your lesson yet.

Finally, drivers, don't miss the exit onto the A104. Driving into the centre of Paris is not an experience I'd care to repeat in a hurry.

    Re: Eurodisney - who's been, who's going?

Hi Rez - we must have been there at the same time!

I can recommend this campsite for anyone wanting to stay reasonably nearby http://www.paris-campsite.com/ It took us probably about twenty minutes to drive to DLP from there along a very straightforward N road, the pitches were a good size, the owner was lovely, facilities were spotless (though the concept of having a single loo roll hanging outside the loos is one that will never cease to bemuse me), and there's an absolute bucketload of other things to do in the area.

My tips would be to park in the Disney Village car park - we did a day in Disney Park car park and a day in the Disney Village one, and the Village car park was both cheaper and closer to the park.

Don't buy tickets off the official website - buy tickets from the French site FNAC (google FNAC disneyland tripadvisor for more info). Our tickets cost us 35 Euros each, the price on the DLP uk website was £51.

We also had no problems taking food in. The baby change facilities on main street are very good and very clean.

Even the tiredest 5 year old will stay awake once the Dreams show begins - it is magical!

Dinner with the Princesses in the Auberge de Cendrillon is simultaneously the biggest rip off ever (unimaginably crap food, Jess is far from a fussy eater and ate practically nothing of her meal) and absolutely unmissable (J's face when Tiana, then Ariel, then Cinderella appeared was amazing).

I was disappointed that there weren't more Disney characters actually on view in the park, the level of information on the park in general was somehow a bit rubbish (there's cartoons etc showing in the indoor foodhall in Cafe Hyperion in Discoveryland, there's hardly any restaurant open actually inside the park after 7pm which seems insane given that the Dreams show doesn't start till 11 so they have a captive audience of those staying off site (we went to the Village but it was an extra walk we didn't need at the end of a long day)), make use of the Fastpass system wherever possible ... loads more I can't think of now as it's gone midnight! Will try to think and post more when I'm not falling asleep!

Oh and where was Tinkerbell - she was missing from the Parade both times we saw it?
