    Re: And another boring thread...

As you can see from the replies Dr S everyone does this differently! You will naturally over time develop your own personal routine for everything.

Being the control freak that I am I liked to work towards feeds at roughly the same time each day. It makes it easier IMO as when you start to wean they are then hungry at mealtimes.

    7am - feed
    9.30/10 - 1 hour nap
    11am - feed
    1pm - feed
    1pm (after feed) - 2 - 3 hour nap
    3/4pm - feed
5pm - short 30 min nap if out and about
    7pm - feed
    8pm - feed

The only nap I'm fairly strict about is the one after the 1pm feed. The other two he had when out and about. The late afternoon one was dropped quite early.

For weaning I started by offering breakfast around 8am and after a week or so introduced lunch at noon and then tea at five.

Once weaning was properly established the morning feed at 11 was dropped and then a few months later the afternoon one was dropped.

There is a point where they are having all milk feeds and breakfast, lunch and dinner where you are feeding them something almost constantly. It's nice when that stage is finished!

KK - I get that they are made of different things but not all the parents that use the hungry baby milk will have babies that vomit with whey - in fact the vast majority won't - most of them will use it because they think it will stop their babies from being hungry. It's just luck that a less easily digested ingredient is ALSO one that stays down. Could easily be the other way round.

There are milks marketed in the US as "stay-down" and also follow-on milks but there's no purpose made stay-down milk here which is why I say the hungry baby milk is not INTENDED as a stay-down milk. It's just nice that it is that way.
