    Qs about integrated appliances

We're about to start the process of getting quotes for a new kitchen.

We have an appt at B&Q tomorrow night with one of their design guys. We have no intention of letting them install it we're not made of money ;)

Anyway, I had completely ruled out integrated appliances, as I assume they are much more expensive than normal ones, but I have no idea whether this is actually true? We'd be looking at oven, hob & microwave. And are they a pain in the ass to replace?

Ta v much! (Any recs on where to buy a kitchen also appreciated )

I think integrated ones look better (generally) unless you go for a big range oven and I don't think they were much more expensive. We haven't had to replace anything yet but most things seem to be a set intergrated size so could be swapped out faily easily.

    Re: Qs about integrated appliances

We have an integrated hob and oven and it looks loads nicer - we have the hobs on one surface and the oven on a different wall of the kitchen so you can use both at the same time - much easier. Having integrated hobs means you're not forever dropping bits down the side when you're cooking.

Price-wise, we got cheapy cheapy ones, but it seemed that you could pay basically whatever you wanted and get something to fit. We've never replaced ours (had them about 6 or 7 years) but I assume this is still the case.

I love my integrated appliances - I have a horror of little gaps at the sides of things

Can't answer your questions as we didn't price up all the options, but unless you want a range, then go for integrated as it will look a million times better and is easier to clean. I believe most appliances are standard sizes now so are easy to replace.

I have integrated appliances and i love them . Agree with Mrs B in that it all looks neat and tidy which I like . I did contemplate a range cooker but in the end went for an induction hob etc and it's the best !

Oh and don't use B&Q ! As much as I love my kitchen now that it's finished, the deliveries etc were a nightmare and we ended up getting compensation for all the hassle.
