Re: Where to buy "Black Tie" frocks?

Thanks ladies! Had already looked in John Lewis and tried on this one which is Phase Eight. There really wasn't much choice of long evening wear in store. Same goes for Monsoon.

But I'm not convinced by th jewelled bit

Will take a look at very/littlewoods. Can you return items to the eBay outlets? That would be my concern if it didn't fit or I didn't like it IRL.

There are a few local independent shops that woul have but I'm afraid that I would fall in love with something £500+

Needs to be long, patterned rather than self coloured, size 12 but with room for GG's!

Was it the one which you can tie the straps differently? I was rather tempted by it.

I know you want a patterned one but this is lovely in the 'flesh' - the colour is beautiful. My friend has just bought it and she may not quite be a GG but isn't far off!

This one is patterned and looks good on - personally think better in the blue but might just be my colouring

I couldn't see which Phase Eight one you had tried but guessing was one of either of these two as you mentioned the jewels:

I know what you mean about the independents - but they may have a range of prices. I tried on a dress which was £150 and one which was £600 in the same shop!

    Good luck!

Why don't you have a look at Pappillon and Lilly the Pink out in Cults? Some lovely pieces in there.

The kookai outlet seemed to have a normal Internet shop return policy, I would've thought the big shop outlets would be similar (like house of Fraser).
That dress is lovely, can you scour other ted baker outlets? Like house of Fraser.

In also tried on the second phase eight dress that Schnapps posted and it was stunning, I was so tempted by that too (it's the red and purple dress).

I have a 10% off code for Phase Eight of you need it x
