Ok a really really boring thread! But it's a thread!
When did you move your baby out of bodysuits and into regular vests or t-shirts?
I am just getting Baby S some 6-9 mo size bodysuits and noticed there were very few on sale, none in the next size, though maybe one or two stray ones in even bigger sizes.
Did you switch when they started walking? Or out of nappies? My friend's 2yo is still in them but I don't know anyone else with a reliably walking toddler.

I kept my DDs in them up to age 2ish ... as long as I could really with the sizes that are generally available. They both walked at 16 months.
I don't like the thought of them getting a draught up their back when their tops lift. We're in Aberdeen though, where it is a lot draughtier!

Mine had them pretty much til they were walking or crawling, so nearly 18 months! They did have proper clothes too, but bodysuits were far easier for everyday wear. You can get shortie versions for summer too, in fact my dd still wore hers last year at 2.5 yrs.

Em still wears a bodysuit under her PJs at night as I find it keeps the nappy in place better (plus she can't undo the poppers so no risk of her taking it off) .
She wears normal vests in the day time as she likes to use the potty (not potty training as she refuses flat out to wear knickers
) and kept weeing on her bodysuit.

Mrs B the fact that you say shortie versions for summer makes me think you are talking about sleepsuits/rompers? Or do you mean with short sleeves?
I'm meaning vests with poppers that go under the bum.
It is a tad draughty here too bluekat as we are v near the chilly Irish Sea!
Baby S currently wears wrap vests like these at night as it makes for an easier nappy change. Unless he starts taking his nappy off with these on we'll probably keep him in those for night-time.

Re: Ok a really really boring thread! But it's a thread!
Until they were out of nappies I think, so until they were 2. I don't know why walking or crawling would be a reason to not wear a popper vest. They're so much more practical than standard vests that need tucking in every 30 seconds when they're climbing all over the place.
I don't remember having a problem buying them in sizes above 6-9 months. I remember M&S was the only shop I could find sleepsuits (babygros) in size 2-3yrs for William who was a monstrously big baby, so I assume I could get poppered vests in the same size relatively easily.

Mine wore them till they were about 12-18 months depending on the time of year. Basically I stopped in the summer when they were about that age and went to proper vests in the winter. Although having said that J was a very warm child and didn't wear vests much again till he went to school.

Re: Ok a really really boring thread! But it's a thread!
Jubjub, I was looking in Boots and Next, and I didn't see much in Asda the other day either. I saw one single pack in 12-18 mo and nothing in larger, and I bought the only 9-12 mo pack (mind you this is me being v fussy and only buying unisex colours, but the only 9-12 mo was a green and white "boy" set, I didn't check the I AM A NAUGHTY BOY or I AM A PRETTY GIRL ranges).
Perhaps all the parents of 12-24 month old babies have been round our local shops and bought them out.

Max has only just stopped wearing popper vests most of the time but doesn't tend to wear a vest at all now.
Zoe sometimes wears a vest, sometimes not. We stopped the popper vests with her when she was 2 - mainly because we were thinking about potty training soon and it seemed easier not to bother. I figure you can always layer them up if needs be.
