Thanks ladies, you've confused me totally now
I've just spent another hour looking at sites in north Cornwall and can't find anything that seems as nice
I really really don't want a haven style thing after one night at one last summer.
Jules, do you know the site? Is it as nice as it sounds from the website?

Re: St Austell, Cornwall, anyone been?
We stayed somewhere where we had to drive through St Austell- didn't like the look of it at all. And the beaches were terrible in that part of the coast.
We tend to go right down to the "end", this year Mousehole.
If you don't want to go as far - have a look around Padstow area, there must be something there and the beaches are lovely - Porthcothan is one of the prettiest and largest beaches I've seen in this country.

Re: St Austell, Cornwall, anyone been?
My Sister lived there for about a year and dubbed it 'St Awful'
Bude is lovely or maybe try further up into Dorset, Lyme Regis/Bridport area is gorgeous.
