Skin flare ups - most soothing products?
I'm so fed up with the skin on my face just now. I'm thinking I should probably make a Dr appt, but don't like going for something so trivial.
I'm not sure if its eczema related or just 'one of those things' but my face is so sore with large dry skin patches, my eyelids are extremely dry and itchy, and under my chin is in a rash.
Sounds attractive, doesn't it
I'm taking anti-histmaine daily to stop me touching it and scratching my eyelids
I'm alternating between Epaderm at home and EA 8 hour cream at work (cos I have it in my bag), and while things aren't getting worse, they aren't getting much better
Does anyone else suffer from this kind of thing? I've no idea what caused it, could be anything I guess.
Any miracle products I could try? I feel like I need a really deeply moisturising mask of some kind. I've not worn any make-up for almost a week, doesn't really help my look at all

Re: Skin flare ups - most soothing products?
Poor you, it sounds really uncomfortable apart from anything else. Has it just started all of a sudden? No period of stress or anything?
I can recommend just using rosewater to wash for a bit and my very reactive skin gets on well with La Roche Posay Toleriane moisturiser, they have several types - normal, oily and for dry skin, I use Toleriane Spa and Riche.
Plenty of water too to drink. I also really like Malin and Goetz products, they are gentle and not many nasties in them (very expensive though).
I'd just watch out for artificial perfume or colourings in products and not too much alcohol.

Liza Earle products are very good. She actually suffers from dry skin and eczema, although to look at her you wouldn't know. If you buy her products from QVC you can use them for up to 30 days and if you don't see an improvement send them back and get a refund. Maybe worth a try

Thanks ladies. Donna
sooooo boring
I don't really get on with Dreamcream unfortunately, so I can rule that one out.
Rosey no I can't say I'm particularly stressed, I think the weather can sometimes effect it (we were camping at the weekend - maybe too much cold air??) I will look up the La Roche moisturiser, thank you.
I will also look at Liz Earle, I am using cleanse & polish just now and it doesn't make thinks worse, maybe there are more things in her range I should try ... off for a nosey
Thanks
and also for the sympathy

I have the most sensitive, reactive pain-in-the-arse skin ever and coconut oil is the only thing I use on it now; it's unbelievably calming and also good for eczema. I've had so many compliments on my skin since I've been using it. Cheap as chips too

I love coconut oil. It is good for you in a million ways. Rather nice spread on a square of dark chocolate too.

I would second the recc for coconut oil. It has been a saving grace for Reuben's eczema.
ETA like Donna, also love eating it. Give it to the kids stirred into their morning porridge too :-)
