Just discovers mould on ds pillow/mattress!!??
Changed ds sheets and was like wtf!?
His pillow has a patch of the black mouldy spots not furry mould just black bits Iyswim
His mattress at the same spot the pillow has been on has a bit on the big care label and onto top layer of mattress
We have the fancy ass mothercare airflow cool max etc so but surprised by that
The mattress I will take top layer off and wash on 60 tomorrow as next layer is plastic anyway and also turn it around so it's at his feet.will try wash pillow too it says it can be but may just go buy another
How could this happen though? Ds doesn't drink in bed or anything
He is drooling like a dog currently during the day
Is quite a hot sweaty baby
Any tips or ideas what could have caused it? Or tips what I can do/also prevent it again

Mould=moisture and warmth. Not sure of the mothercare mattress but if there's a layer of plastic then that would trap the moisture between that and child; child would introduce warmth and the mould will grow.
Use a bio washing powder/liquid. Try and get rid of that plastic layer (? Is that possible). How warm is the room?

Well not plastic as such but a waterproof layer -doesnt actually feel plasticy. Only layer that comes off is the top layer which I'll wash on 60 with bio powder
Room is 19-20 most nights but ds does get sweaty but that's just him not the temperature

Ds has the same, he puts his sweaty arms under his pillow. Til we can get rid of the waterproof sheet (not dry at night yet) I just change and wash the covers at 60 very often. He has a cheap pillow which I change as soon as it gets mouldy again. Oh, and I leave the duvet and pillow out to air during the day too.

Bio powder works best at 35 deg. No point washing with it at 60 as the heat will denature the enzymes.
I'd wash once at 35 ish, then again at as hot as possible with non bio. That'll kill/bleach it
