How much are driving lessons these days?
Per hour?
I can't be bothered to enter all my details into AA/BSM site and have them keep phoning me and no independent people have websites. Planning ahead for DS's birthday. Also, are they changing the law so that you have to be 18 to learn? He had heard that somewhere.

Re: How much are driving lessons these days?
IIRC dd was paying about £20 for an hour and about £33 for two last year (might be erring on the low side though). She tended to go for the two hour lessons as an hour wasn't really long enough.
I haven't heard they're changing the age. If they do it in the next couple of months ds2 is going to be gutted

I paid £22 per hour. And it might be true about the age, but it was being said when I was 16 and i'm 24 now, so prob not true

Re: How much are driving lessons these days?
Thanks all. So maybe about 10 lessons for £200ish then.
Can't see anything about the age thing either... all just "if's and maybe's" I think but nothing on the cards for now.
Anyone know about this "Pass Plus" course you can do afterwards to? Can it really reduce your insurance costs?

If you book a load at once with the AA (and probably others too), you get quite a good discount.
Not sure how much difference the pass plus thing makes really.

Re: How much are driving lessons these days?
I was looking into Pass Plus it would have only taken £100 off my insurance.

Re: How much are driving lessons these days?
When I did lessons (about 6yrs ago) I paid £20p hour, or £30 for an houranda half.
The Passplus gives a LOT more experience of dual carriageway driving, and safety aspects. I'd seriously consider it for a teenage boy.
