Tinted Moisturiser v BB Cream

Is there really a huge difference in these, what do you think?

I had a Garnier BB cream which I did like, and thought it made my skin look quite nice. I then got a No7 one (on offer) and it just doesn't seem any different to a bog standard tinted moisturiser?

I do like the ease and 'lightness' of these products for daytime wear, but I'm just wondering if the BB thing is just a bit of a con to make you buy more products. Which I am easily taken in by

I really don't think there is much difference in the UK products - the original BB creams from Japan are very different though.

I do like the bb cream (I've used the Garnier one) but I completely agree - not much different to tinted moisturiser

I think the BB cream has more light reflecting particles but the tinted moisturiser is a bit flatter.
I use BB in the morning (Garnier) & have Nivea tinted moisturiser in my gym bag.

I can't get on with Garnier BB cream at all, it feels very heavy on my skin...glad I didn't buy it but used the free samples. Tinted moisturiser feels nicer on my skin and isn't so heavy looking/feeling.

I quite like the Garnier BB cream, i think the light shade is quite dark though. I love the smell of it Only used the samples so far but may purchase depending on how much it is.

It's normally about £10 but I've seen it on offer in Boots and Sainsburys so far at about £7

How so? I like the idea of BB creams but don't get on with tinted moisturiser at all.
