2 Whole chickens in the slow cooker - how long?
I'm doing 2 chickens (together) in the slow cooker tomorrow but don't know whether or not to increase the amount of time I give them compared to if I was just cooking 1. My head is telling me it makes sense to increase the time but I don't know for sure, nor by how much.
Any ideas?

I would increase it, certainly do when I do 2 in the oven, but couldn't give you any figures as I don't have a slow cooker. Sorry, not much help there!

Re: 2 Whole chickens in the slow cooker - how long?
Can you not just stab them to see if they are cooked?

Re: 2 Whole chickens in the slow cooker - how long?
But I'd assume the chooks are packed in tight and would need that long

BTW, how big are these chooks, and do you have a mahoosive slow cooker then?
Also, ask @mediocre_mum on twitter as she is the slow-cooker queen

Anne - about 5hrs, sometimes 6.
LG - we do have one of the big ones, there is space around the chickens. 'Tis a good point though. Thanks for the twitter tip, will ask her

I've never done a whole chicken in the slow cooker, really stupid Q but do you just bung it in ?

Yes just bung it in. No additional liquid needed.

Like Mrs B says, if I was doing 2 in the oven I wouldn't cook them for 4 hrs instead of 2 for example.
