My own business is picking up - YAY

I have neglected it of late, as I was working full time for someone else, but as I have had a couple of weeks to do a little push, I am getting some bookings in.

Just in case you were wondering I have been face painting for more than 2 years, but have only been accepting money for it in the last year.

Also, as an extra bonus my lovely husband is finishing the work that is needed to convert his garage into my pottery studio. I am so excited! I have sold a few bits on Folksy and am making more at the moment. I have a little collection but am waiting until I have a bit more stock before uploading them. I will certainly pop a post on here when that is done too.

I will do them, it is the same problem as with the Folksy shop, I need to build up some stock. Once I have a selection I will be doing the Essex craft fair circuit. I have booked spaces on a couple in November and December to try and hit the Christmas present market.

Thanks, it has been a while as I have quite a lot of competition around here. People with no experience or insurance and quoting much lower prices. I have refused to reduce mine as they are very very reasonable. So a lot of the business that I missed last year are booking me this year. That'll teach them - pay peanuts, get monkeys.

Just had a look round your FB photos - they are excellent! I'm nowhere near you, but would have no hesitation in recommending your work.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to do a full face? My boys aren't very keen on face painting so I don't have much personal experience, but often see huge Qs for face painting at events, and I wondered how long the actual painting 'should' take.

I've helped out at our school Fair doing very amateurish ones, I always want to spend longer on them to look good, but the organisers completely discourage it

This is brilliant SL well done!

And I think it's something that you could really develop on, ie you could offer a sideline in prepacked party bags or other 'party' related ideas.
