Random bloke tried to sell me aerial photo of our house!?
I'd been having one of those days anyway - nothing going to plan, being a complete scatterbrain - then an elderly-ish gent knocks the door with a framed aerial pic of our house and garden, landlord's plastic garden furniture and all!
He said that last summer he'd taken this photograph, don't the trees look lovely, you can buy it for £45 mounted and framed
I was speechless! Totally not up for that kind of odd today
Has anyone else had this happen?
P.s. I didn't buy it! One of my first thoughts was, 'Hmm, Google Maps?'

Re: Random bloke tried to sell me aerial photo of our house!?
We have had it too and it was actually a great pic but I said I wasn't interested when he told me the price, I think it was £40 but asked him whether I could think about it (being polite) he said that I couldn't because when he got to the end of the road he would just chuck the pic in the bin, so I said, 'OK I'll give you a tenner for it!' and he said OK! Crap sales pitch
but I do like the pic

Re: Random bloke tried to sell me aerial photo of our house!?
We had a bloke come round, said we didn't want it, so he sold it to us for half the original price
I like having it

Re: Random bloke tried to sell me aerial photo of our house!?
I wasn't quick enough to barter!
Just really wasn't in the mood to be bothered by people
I did ask if I could think about it, and I'm pretty sure he threatened to pop back so maybe I'll give it a go!
I love that he told you he'd just chuck it in the bin Katoid
And to be fair Duckie, that's a pretty good reason to (get your parents to) buy!

Re: Random bloke tried to sell me aerial photo of our house!?
The people who lived on our house before us bought one in the '80's and left it in the house for us.

That was nice of them to leave it Inks

Lady Leah, that's another reason I can't see us ever getting one, I think it would suffer the same cupboard fate!

We had one left by previous occupants; we used to have it up but I'm not sure what happened to it. It had 80's cars on it. My parents also had one about 15yrs ago, they loved it.

Someone came to our door a few years ago with a picture. It was blooming awful, the garden was covered in plastic toys when it was taken.

Someone tried to sell me one of these last summer. I think what particularly irritated me was that the price dropped from £75 down to about £20 in the space of a few minutes. It was a nice pic, but I wanted to talk to DH about it and could I take the card that he'd given me and call him back. He said no, as he only had the one business card, and promptly left

I remember these being sold door to door in the early 90 (when I was renting, so again, no interest really!)
