Re: Can you BLW before 6 months? (Hungry baby)
Baby S sometimes finishes a 7oz bottle and he's only 15 weeks. We were talking about moving him up to 8oz bottles but decided it was pretty rare he finishes the 7oz and even when he does he doesn't complain for more. I can see us moving to 8oz well before he's 6 months though.
I was reading about weaning as the HV is due to come round and talk to us about it (I'm assuming to pre-empt the baby-rice-at-3-months brigade!) and it said that larger babies sometimes DON'T need more because they've already done their widthways growing and now need to lengthen out a bit.

Re: Can you BLW before 6 months? (Hungry baby)
I agree with upping his milk before going down the early weaning route, especially if you want to do BLW. L was easily downing 8-9oz bottles at Arthur's age
She was just a little piggy though, nothing to do with being a big baby
Having said that, I started BLW with B when she was 5.5 months old, she seemed desperate to eat proper food (made clear to me when we were out eating at a restaurant, she was on my lap eyeing up my food and before I knew it she was munching on my side salad
) so I started with rice cakes and very soft boiled veg and went on to everything else when she hit the 6 month mark. We did a mix of lumpy purees and BLW and it worked well.
As an aside, how did he get to nearly 5 months already?!
L is 6
B is 4
