Help please with name for women's 'bits!'

We call it a Minky in this house (sorry Minky!) but sometimes my eldest says Minnie so I think one of her friends calls it that.

I've just remembered thinking it was called your "pride" when I was about 4/5yrs old. My next door neighbour tripped over and looked like she'd landed on her front bum on the door step. My mum asked if she was hurt and she said "no, just my pride" and for a while I thought it was another word for front bum

Evie has started calling hers her Fi-Fi recently. I have no idea why, probably one of her friends says that. I used to just call it her front-bottom.

But the way I see it is almost any word for penis is acceptable or has connotations of strength iykwim?, whereas names for vagina is often coy and cute.

So I made a concious decision to use a word that is in line (and in effect the femal version of) with the most common and acceptable word for penis (certainly with kids) - willy.

I know what you mean, all the names for lady bits are a bit twee. Although when I was little it was a winky rather than a willy so that was pretty coy too.

I think it's easier for boys cause you are actually referring to the penis, whereas when you say front bottom you're not really meaning vagina, but more the outside bits.

We say front bottom and ladybits, my boys are eternally fascinated by my lack of willy.

We had this very same interesting conversation at our leaving London do - there had been a lot of drink and it was late (read 9pm )!

Anyway, we call the wee part the front bottom, the vagina the middle bottom (they've wondered where the tampon goes, hence explaining the two) and the bottom.

Willy is a willy here, although am thinking we need to start calling it a penis soon.

generally lady bits although front bottom also gets used. The girls tend to use a norwegian word which means wee wee and is a fairly unisex word (used more for boys but also for girls) As far as they are concerned, they have 'little wee wees' DS has a 'big wee wee' DH has a 'very big wee wee' and I have 'a hairy wee wee'

I have to admit to being rather pleased that they've adopted the norwegian as they ran through the British museum commenting rather loudly and prolifically on the anatomy of the greek statues
