Do you and your OH/DH ever go 'out'? Just the two of you, I mean?

OH and I virtually never do I have to go to London on Thursday for hair and makeup practice and trying on headpieces, venue meeting, etc etc. So having had my hair and makeup done I will actually (hopefully ) be looking quite nice

So I thought he and I could go out in London, after he's finished at work, then travel home together. But, of course, that is the day when they have some important people visiting from abroad so he can't make any plans Not his fault at all, and I know he would like to meet up with me.

But it made me realise how rarely we go out, just the two of us. Do you ever manage it?

If I have a day off Uni we try and meet for lunch because evenings are reliant on babysitters.

We very rarely go 'out', I think the last time was to the cinema for his birthday in September last year!

We did for Christmas shopping last year. Can't imagine we'll do it again until next Christmas. I think it's pathetic actually, but life with children and odd work schedules.

Since you are having hair and makeup done I would go somewhere with a friend or out by yourself even. I would hate to waste looking good.

though, with us both being separated / divorced and therefore not having the children full time we do have a bit more time for being a couple than we would if the chldren were all ours and all at home all the time!

My Mum has the children overnight and we go somewhere together every 2-3 months or so.

The opportunity came up this week - I asked him where he wanted to go to eat and he replied Wimpy!

I think the whole getting ready in peace, getting glamed up and going somewhere nice thing means more to me than it does to him!

We went out for dinner and then on to the pub last night actually but we probably don't go out just the two of us more than once a month or two...

Yes we try once a fortnight or so, even if it's just to the pub for tea or to the cinema

Never really. We did make it out to lunch a few weeks ago when he had a half day off and the boys were at nursery so we went and had some sushi and wandered around the city. We commented on how weird it was to be able to hold hands (each other's as opposed to the kids') and to not be calling out 'Come on', ' Watch where you're going', ' Mind the other people', 'put that down' etc

Honestly the last time we were out alone together that I was a couple of years ago and we went to the cinema to see Where the Wild Things Are. Oh and we went to see Take That at Wembley - not the most recent tour, the one before that so again over a couple of years ago.

We go for a "headspace" walk nearly every night and are out about twice a fortnight. The joys of having a big age gap is having "on tap" babysitters!

We dont have any children so obviously its a bit easier for us, but we go out together quite often. We socialise a lot with friends and go out on our own together too. Usually at least once a week we do something, even if its just out for a quick drink.

Am hoping when we do have children we will still be able to go out oftenish, my MIL is only a few doors down and itching for us to have a baby and will definitely be up for a lot of babysitting!
