Yes, after work Am focusing on the fact that the faster I run, the quicker I will get to the pub for free beer

Dinner is relatively low carb anyway...

Holly - receipe for Tarragon chicken (serves 1 these amounts)

    Ingredients
1 x chicken breast sliced how you like
    knob of butter
glug of groundnut or olive oil
handful of fresh tarragon cut up ( i use dried - about a teaspoon)
1/3 of small carton of double cream
    juice of half a lemon

Heat the oil and butter together. When it starts to bubble add tarragon and chicken, cook until it goes crispy and brown (if you like it like that - basically keep going until you think chicken is cooked).
Add enough cream to make a sauce and wait a minute for it to meld and bubble.
Add lemon juice, taste and season if you need to.

I served it with roasted asparagus - very nice

That sounds lush Legolas, tarragon is one of my favourite herbs. Guess it would work with low-fat creme fraiche for those of who are counting calories?

Thanks legolas, sounds lovely, will give it a try!

Welllllll I'm not really sure how I did at the pub! Diet coke only which was good but the food wasn't great. I ordered something I have had before (2 of the same starter on same plate as a main course) asparagus wrapped in bacon with a poached egg. However when it came the asparagus was a tiny portion and they had shoved it in a bowl with chilli dressing! Had to send it back for the chilli to be taken off but they were a bit funny about it. So adding that to what I'd already eaten I was still on only about 750 cals for the day!

I'm leading up to confessing that I had a chocolate brownie for dessert even if that was horrendous calorie wise (obv no carbs went out of the window!) I'm still probs on 1200 max for the day?

Planning on yoghurt and strawberries for breakfast tomorrow, not sure for lunch, then out for an Indian in the evening which will be ok from a carbs perspective as won't have rice or naan etc but should probs keep cals down to save for the curry.

Meant to say too, thanks for the low carb links. I think for lunches I will start cooking some of the easy chicken dishes and taking them cold to work to next day.

Re: Anyone up for a summer holiday weight loss challenge?

Holly, I think you probably needed the chocolate brownie after that And if you were within cals, then it is fine... I would probably have started off with good intentions, drunk wine, ordered chips and then thought, sod it, and ordered pudding

1lb off for me this week which is good as I had that meal out on Saturday (with lots of wine), have eaten cake three times (banana cake, doughnut, birthday cake) and not been particularly good about low-carbing (rice and chips). Might 'treat' myself to a pasta salad for lunch but will try and stick to calories today - will get 300ish for the run though. 7.5lbs off since I started this again... Am hoping it will start to show soon

    Morning all,

Holly, don't blame you for having the choc brownie, I find good pub food really hard to resist! Bluebabe, well done on your loss, sounds like you're on it!

Today is a no gym day, am cleaning house this morning (whoohoo...). Got my mini trampoline out a couple of weeks ago and STILL not been on it. So I've decided that no matter what every day I need to do 10 mins bouncing minimum and 3x20 situps, not doing any ab work on the gym. Those 2 combined should be good for my core.

Food is pretty much the same as usual, omelette for breakfast, prawn salad for lunch and spicy prawn linguine (ready meal) for dinner.

Got spray tan and dance rehearsal tonight- showtime tomorrow-eek!

    Afternoon

BB - well done on the weight loss

Holly - cake is the main carb I crave - its something to do with the texture. Love brownies too......low carb can be a pita sometimes

"Enjoy" the housework Moffgal. Friday is my housework/weekly shop day....oh joys of tomorrow

Knackered today. Been a long week with loads of driving plus usual insomnia=knackered! Got myself some melatonin hoping it would help with the insomnia, but its made me worse! Not sure whether to persevere a few nights or just bin the bloody things!

    Food for me today
BF - protein shake (never get bored of these)
L - salad leaves, avocado, asparagus and chilli chicken
D - belly pork and buttered green beans and cabbage
    W - 6 pints
    E - shred dvd done

My 10 minute abs DVD turned up, and is harder than I was expecting, broke a sweat doing it and my heart is racing! Should counteract the bit of burger I pinched from the kids dinner!
