Re: Anyone up for a summer holiday weight loss challenge?

Yummy dinner tonight - tarragon chicken with steamed asparagus and courgettes and green beans tossed in a splash of olive oil with Parmesan, garlic and lemon. DH had new potatoes as well but I stuck with a big serving of veg. Think I am getting the hang of this now

That sounds lovely BB. I changed my menu a bit as MrB has gone out *again* so had turkey, baby corn and mange tout in a nasi goreng sauce with a small portion of rice. Had to have rice to make up my cals today as was so careful in planning low cal/low carb meals for this week, but have had carbs 3 days running and getting crashes from it. Back to higher fat meat next week I think!

Also drinking wine as am watching the program on Great Ormond Street and it's heartbreaking.

We had wine while watching the football as I opened it to cook with and DH said it would 'go off' if we didn't drink it.

Tbh, the Parmesan and the wine were both to make up my calories - I need to eat something with more calories than chicken if I am going to keep cutting these carbs.

He speaks a lot of sense! Did we win in the end?

I've been ok for the last couple of years as I love things like pork belly, lamb etc but have been basing recent meals around turkey, fish, low-fat stuff. Also need to read what Donna posted about low-carb/high-fat, as am sure there's something in that.

    Just

I need to read that stuff that Donna posted too - we eat a lot of chicken / prawns due to all the point counting in the last few years but I think I need to eat more red meat. Not sure I want to go right down the high fat route but am definitely using things like cream / cheese / olive oil a bit more now...

Oops, ended up eating half a bagel at lunchtime Not going to beat myself up about it, but not impressed with myself.

Apart from that blip, it has been ok today

B - Oats so Simple, banana (am still eating oats as they are not wheat)
L - Half a bagel with low-fat houmous, pastrami, chicken, strips of red pepper and cucumber, cherry tomatoes
D - Smoked salmon omelette and salad
snacks - 3 mini sausages, 8 giant chocolate buttons

    All within calorie goal though

Today was latte, turkey and pepper salad for lunch, pork steak with Greek salad for dinner. Resisted the family pack of crisps that mrb bought at lunchtime and the leftover garlic bread from the kids tea. :D

Re: Anyone up for a summer holiday weight loss challenge?

    Well done Mrs B

Have stuck to my calories but am kind of shocked at how hungry I was this evening - am blaming the bagel and the chocolate. And possibly the swirly cinnamon and raisin loaf cake I baked for work which smelt amazing - I didn't even lick the bowl though

Salad made and fajita chicken in fridge to take to work tomorrow... Need to resist temptation

Weigh in day tomorrow - hoping for 2lbs off
