5 week old kitten - where should it sleep? any help?

We have acquired a lovely kitten today. I think it is about 5 weeks old. It wont be left alone, if I go out of the room it cries- huge whining miows!

I will be off to bed soon and I think it should sleep where it will sleep (in the bathroom! safest place for it and containable!), but on the other hand it still needs that comfort and warmth so maybe it should sleep with me. It is currently sound asleep on my lap but as soon as Iget up it will cry and probably cry all night.
    WWYD??

aw, poor thing. Wheres it's mum? Have you got a hot water bottle? If you put it in it's bed quite warm it might help.

It was alone outside for 2 days CB so I don't think Mum is around. I heard it outside a few days ago then someone posted on fb to say they had rescued a kitten so we took it in. There are loads of strays round where we live. It is sad. The cat rescue place is literally overrun with kittens, and puppies. It is desperate for it's mum but she is obviously not around. No we don't have a hot water bottle. If I filled a normal water bottle with warm water? She seems quite attached to me so maybe if I put my tshirt in or something. I have never had a cat this young so a bit lost!

5 weeks is very young... Is it even weaned on solids . I thought they didn't leave mum til 10-12 weeks.

Im an old softy and would have it in with me. But I like my cats cuddly and affectionate, so I would let it.

Aww, 5 weeks is very young to be without its mum. I'd ask a vet for advice.

We got ours at just over 7 weeks, and at that time it was recommended that kittens stay with their mum until 8 weeks.

Yes, try a water bottle with warm water wrapped in your t-shirt. Maybe a vet can advise but she may still need milk, although I'm not sure what optione you'd have on that front.
You could let her sleep with you.

Have you got a photo? The street cats seem to be quite robust and seem independent quite young.

I'd let her sleep with me, but then I'm a mad cat lady
