How long before seeing a doctor?!

Lucy has had a runny bottom since Friday evening (TMI alert) its very pale almost korma like & has been getting worse/thinner, today its more or less just liquid.

She is still eating, although not much & is still drinking too...she did gag this morning at breakfast & later on eating half a banana.

I know there is a stomach bug doing the rounds at the moment & apparently its spreading like wildfire.
How long would you leave it before calling a doctor?

Banana is a good way to go, it has a high potassium content which is essential for good heart function and plenty of energy. Tomato soup is another easily digested product, again it has good elctrolytes.

As for calling a doctor, that's hard to determine. Keep a close eye on her and observe skin pallor, it can be very easy to go anaemic with diarrhea. If in doubt, do so, that's what they are there for.

    I hope it improves quickly

I think pretty much what Lucy said, BRAT diet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRAT_diet is supposed to be good for stomachs. I would also make sure that your DD continues to drink small amounts frequently (maybe water or re-hydration fluids), as dehydration is a concern, especially in young children. If you are concerned then don't hesitate to call the doctor for advice, that's what they're there for. I hope that she is better soon xx.

I took DS2 to GP last week for frequent watery diarrhoea. He checked him over for signs of dehydration, and told me to go back before bank holiday if no better which I did. There isn't really anything this can do but I was reassured that he was ok after being checked over and GP said I was right to take him in

    Hope she feels better soon

There are so many nasty bugs around, it's horrible.

I think I would call the doctor tomorrow afternoon if it hasn't eased off. I hope your little girl is better soon. X

It's worth popping in and taking a urine sample, they can check for ketones and therefore assess dehydration, you can also get some dioralyte (sp?) x

I'm sorry that she's not any better, I hope that she feels better soon. Hopefully the doctor will be able to shed light on what's wrong x.
