Is it difficult to put a DVD onto an iPad??

Does anyone know how to put a DVD onto an iPad? Someone said to me it was easy but I don't even know where to start !

I've just asked DH and he says that the easiest way is to buy it from iTunes otherwise, he reckons that you can put it on the iTunes on your laptop and synch to the iPad. He doesn't think there is a way of putting it directly onto the iPad.

You need a program such as handbrake which will "rip" the DVD into a file on your hard drive. Then convert is to mp4 which is readable by th iPad. iTunes, video monkey etc will do that for you. Then upload to the iPad.

It is fairly easy if your comfortable with file conversions, but its tough on your DVD drive if you do it alot.

As rgk says, the only way to get it straight to the iPad is to download it from iTunes.

Some DVDs have the downloadable file included. It is worth checking your collection to see if you have any.
