Collage Maker software (Mac) like Polyvore?

Is there any software that allows you to create collages a la Polyvore but that a) you can use your own photos and b) you can save to files rather than having to have hosted by Polyvore and to share (would want them private)

I think there might be an App which allows you to do it but i'm not sure how good it is - ie can you "cut" an image out to paste onto the collage or can you only transport the whole photo (if that makes sense - ie a rectangle as opposed to just the person in the photo/car in the photo etc)

DH (from his sick bed - he wasn't best pleased that I disturbed him with my immensely important question I thought he might like the distraction - apparently not.) has said if there's an App then there will be something superior that you can get on a Mac. He clearly saw through my cunning plan of "having" to purchase an Ipad. Bugger.

If this makes sense to anyone and you can help

Get an iPad with Apple Credit, I'm paying £22ish a month for two years and it only works out £70 more expensive than paying cash. Well worth it not to have to shell out £500, imo! And for you it's a legitimate business expense...

Unfortunately it's being sucked up by Google Chrome on 19th April so get in quick. I love it.

hmmm interesting, I will look into that. I'm umming and ahhing at the moment as to whether to 3G or not. Being an utter technical luddite and not wanting to even enter into a convo with DH about it, I'm struggling with knowing which one to go for

Definitely the new ipad, but what size memory etc am confused at. There is also the option of getting it from the US (without 3G) which I believe is a lot cheaper. My friend is coming over the second week of May.....

Loula I will check that out thank you. Does it mean I won't be able to use it after April 19th and was does sucked up by Google Chrome mean? I told you - utterly feckless with anything technical.

By complete chance, I just found what looks like an awesome app for you! It's called Pic Collage and looks like it does just what you need. And it's free! For both iPhone and iPad.

    http://pic-collage.com/

    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/pic-c...448639966?mt=8

TBH I disagree with your OH and his opinion there'll be something better on the Mac - if there is, it will probably be far more complicated than an app.

If you look at the bottom of the page in the app store, you'll see some other collage app suggestions as well.

Well I've been playing with it, and it's seriously easy and fun to use! And you can email collages to people! I reckon you should get an iPad just for this software

I downloaded Picaso for this reason, it's free... did some great random mixed up collages and more formal grid ones. Then choose to keep them private or host online.

Thank you ladies. Damz, I need to be able to start now doing Look Books and only have my Macbook so that's no use

DH from his bed, bless him, after he couldn't sleep anymore, spent ages researching it and the best reviews by all accounts are for Posterino.

I'm not sure it's necessarily the best but it's seriously easy to use with a Mac etc etc.

However it's £20 (which in the scheme of things is nothing if it's super quick and easy and effective) but I will check out Picaso as well.

    Thank you

Oh yes, I think I've heard of Posterous. Isn't fantastic that you can get things like that these days!
