Non of my family are coming to the wedding :-(
Well not none of them but 95% of them & all because of a fall out my mum has had with her sister & mum
My nan & mum haven't spoke in years & neither has my mum & sister... The rest of them I think have just took sides as my mum never hears from them
I was really hoping they would come & now my nan is saying she don't think she will be either
I kept the wedding to this year with how ill she has been & don't think she will be around next year
We were meant to get married 7th June 2012 but postponed because of Zach & thinking about affordability, then my nan got real ill, cancer & loads of other stuff & it made me think I did want her to see me get married so thought important to do it this year
Have saved like mad the past 6 months & now she is saying she prob won't be there anyway, because she doesn't have the support of the others around her I think
I don't have a big family as it is but those 13 have decided not to come no reason just no, & I no it's because if my mum
So all I will have on my wedding day is
Mum
Dad
Brother
Grandad
Uncle
It's the events like these big birthdays, funerals etc you see one another, so really thought they would make the effort but seems not...

That's so sad :(
You would think they'd think of you and put the arguements aside

Weddings bring out the best and the worst in people
I know this from bitter experience!!
It IS sad that your family won't be there but try not to let it spoil your day. Ask yourself this question "Would you rather that people went to your wedding because they WANTED to or because they felt they OUGHT to?"
You will still have a lovely day to look back on ... they will never know what they missed!

Re: Non of my family are coming to the wedding :-(
That is very sad CH

It takes me back to my wedding day & the planning beforehand as my Adoptive parents fell out big style with my sister when she was 17, police & social services were involved etc. I chose her as my MOH as she is my only sister but it also meant that the wedding day & practice ceremony were very uncomfortable/awkward...needless to say that on my wedding day my father apologised to my sister & they spent the rest of the day being nice & civil to each other.

whatever their gripes with each other then tough this is YOUR day (oh and Deans) and they should put their feelings about each other to one side - and celebrate with you -
