Pregnancy Yoga or Pilates or Aquanatal
Now I've got some energy back
I'm thinking of starting one (or 2 or 3) of these classes.
Has anyone done anything like this in pregnancy?
My friend suggested pregnancy yoga is better in 3rd tri - I think as you don't have as much energy again it's goot to relax.

Re: Pregnancy Yoga or Pilates or Aquanatal
I did yoga for a bit the first time round, and Pilates both times. That said, I was already doing pilates, so I found it easy to carry on and just adjust the exercises as I needed to.
I think it's just personal preference at the end of the day, but definitely think it's a good idea to do something!

Re: Pregnancy Yoga or Pilates or Aquanatal
I'm doing yoga. Have been since about 14 weeks. I find it really helpful, esp now I am bigger. She does a lot of work on stretching, breathing & general advice for birth prep. It's really good to have time out for me & relaxation.

I did aquanatal and loved it, i found it really easy and fun to do.
I tried postnatal pilates and hated it only because the woman really focussed on breathing which i just can't do so would end up near on having a panic attack that i couldn't breathe
Personally i think any of them is beneficial even if its just meeting other mums. I bumped into a lady who had been in my swimming group in the transitional care ward when ds was born. Her dd had been born 9 weeks early and ds needed some extra care. It was also lovely just to exchange pleasantries and see the further along mums leave as they had their lo's.

I did Pilates and aquanatal - felt Pilates was having more of an effect but think you probably have to do it for a while to really benefit fully. That said I would recommend doing it as it was good to have an hour to chill out and it really made me think about my posture

Re: Pregnancy Yoga or Pilates or Aquanatal
I did aquanatal and antenatal Pilates when I was expecting M and Z, and really enjoyed both. I really struggled with the Pilates once I got beyond about 22 weeks, though, as I couldn't get up off the floor or roll over easily! But I was huge at that point!
I went back and did aquanatal when expecting R and really enjoyed it again - it's nice and relaxing, fun, and both that and the Pilates were great for meeting people.

I did yoga right through pregnancy in fact I did a class the day before DS was born.
