Can anyone help me work out a pro-rata salary please?

I'd just like to work out what I'd take home per week/month whatever really. It's in a school so does that mean I just won't get a salary for the summer months/half terms etc or would it be spread so that I got paid on those months too??

It says:

Salary: £15,039 pro rata
Full time
Term time only
37 hours per week term time plus one week. 12 months fixed term.

Anyone any clue? And no, the job isn't as a mathematician!

I work it out as £13,176. However, this is worked out using the Surrey pay calculation so it may vary slightly depending on your LA pay calculations.

It would be spread over 12 months.

My (voluntary) pension contribution is 7%. Not too sure whether you would opt out.

Divide the total by 52.1429 to get the weekly rate, then times by the number of weeks worked for the annual rate (which is likely to be paid over 12 months in equal instalments). Did they say how many weeks you'll work? I think our school is in for 38 weeks so say calculating working 39 weeks:-

15,039 divided by 52.1429 = 288.41 per week
288.41 multiplied by 39 = 11,247.99, approx £937.33 per month (if paid over 12 months)

This is obviously a bit less than Swiss Babe calculated, she may have used a different number of weeks. You could ask how many weeks the post would be working and work it out from there. I used to assume that I'd lose a third of my pay to statutory deductions such as tax, NI.
