Whose hair do you love? - inspire me
I'm in a serious hair rut. I have had long hair for pretty much my entire life, and whilst I can't see myself ever giving up my security blanket and having it all cut off, I just wish I could find a decent style. At the moment it is longish - to the bottom of my bra (iyswim) and I'm naturally dark/honey blonde with highlights (combination of a dark, medium and lighter blonde running through it). I have one long layer and it's sort of shaped around my face but not in a fringe.
I need something that's easy to manage, as I haven't got time to faff about with it in the morning (I haven't got time to wash it every day let alone anything else
). Most days it's stuck in a ponytail or bun, just like it was when I was 15 (only now I have grey hair and am decidedly fatter and older
)
I'm in need of inspiration, celebrity or otherwise!

I was flicking through a magazine yesterday and loved Ginnifer Goodwin's hair.

I think short hair can take years off!

Re: Whose hair do you love? - inspire me
Do you know I find long hair much harder to deal with than shorter hair! Mine has really grown and it is now just below my bra line (all in less than 2 years from a crop!) And I am constantly tying it up as it just gets in my way and frankly it never looks right on me. I am chopping it next week into a chin length choppy bob so it looks a bit messy (sleek hair doesn't suit me).
I cut a fringe into mine to liven it up a bit to see if that would help me to like my hair and I did like that plus have a lot of long layers in it to give it some movement and bounce. But for me it still doesn't work.

I've just gone from having longish (just about bra strap) to a 'pob' again as I was sick fed up tying it up all the time. I've had a couple of moments of regret as i'd been growing it for 3 years but all in all it looks healthier and is easier to blow dry/straighten in the morning.

I had mine cut recently from bra strap length to a shoulder length layered bob, similar to this

What about colouring it rather than changing the style?

Re: Whose hair do you love? - inspire me
I'm in a similar position, brunette hair down to bra strap and hasn't been cut for over a year (although I have been short and every length in-between but I keep coming back to long as I prefer it), very grown out layers and in desperate need of a chop on the ends. It was heavy highlighted blonde until feb last year when I got fed up of the roots showing so quickly so I shoved a brunette colour all over it and have been doing it regularly ever since to cover up the blonde (which is now light brown and about halfway down my hair).
So hopefully next week I'm off to the hairdressers to get it cut with some nice layers. Oh and I want them to do this to it too

Quite bold (and I haven't told anyone that I want to do it yet
so it's going to be a surprise for my family and friends!) but I really like the style plus I don't have to worry about roots coming through like I would if I was blonde all over!

joanne62 - this is as short as I would probably go, although I do love all those other sleek bobs too.
I have thick hair, in that I have a lot of it rather than it being thick/coarse (if that makes sense). I'm thinking I'd have to blow dry and straighten a bob?
I sound like a complete dunce here, but I don't usually dry my hair or use any product in it at all
Lilybett - that is fab and I love the soft curl. I'm fed up of roots showing too, but having had a darker blonde all through the winter (to avoid too much root) I think I'd like to go lighter now that it's spring (and then I'll have the roots problem again
)

My hair sounds similar to yours and let mine dry naturally or blast it with a hairdryer and then smooth it out with a Babyliss Big Hair dryer. I occasionally run the straighteners over the top layer.
