Hypnotism CD's for bed wetting - anyone had any success using them?
OK, brief history for people who haven't seen previous posts. L was 6 in Nov and still nowhere near dry at night, she has never managed even one night since she was born. I appreciate that it takes time for some children (and we have a genetic history on both sides for late bed wetting) and have been very laid back about it all BUT it is really starting to upset L, she talks about it a lot and is quite put out that her younger sister regularly has dry nights. We discussed how it is not her fault and we need to wait until her body is ready but she feels embarrassed about the whole thing and is desperate not to wear a nappy (we can't use pull ups as she is too big for them and also they aren't always absorbent enough).
So, because she is so desperate to be out of them, I have agreed to let her try without a nappy in the Easter holidays, if she can manage 1 night out of 5 of being dry I will continue on and if she can't we will try again in the next half term holiday. I will wake her up to go to the loo before I go to bed and leave a potty in her room for night time wees. I am really not convinced it will work (she is a very deep sleeper) but am willing to give it a go for her sake.
I have been looking into hypnosis CD's for bed wetting on the net and thought it might help a little bit, has anyone here used them for their child and did they help at all?

Haven't used the CDs but just wanted to say that you can get Underjams pyjama pants which are pull-up type nappies designed for bedwetters. They're quite expensive (9 or 10 for £6) but Asda often have them on offer for £3 so I tend to stock up then. They have aged 4-7 and 8-14 so there should be some that fit your daughter. My DD is nearly 8 and is still in the 4-7 size as the larger ones are a bit too big for the moment.

I really can't afford them, especially as her little sister would then want them too!

That's fair enough. I started using them over the winter, as I figured it was cheaper (in time and money) than washing sheets and trying to get them dry when the weather was bad.
Been trying to get hold of the school nurse again today, to talk about bed alarms, but she's being as elusive as ever. She was supposed to contact me months ago and messages left for her never seem to get through
If you find out anything about the hypo tapes, please post about it as I'd be interested to hear

I can't help with the CD's but DS1 still used Aldi/Lidl nighttime pullups at almost 9 years old (and he's taller than average) so they might work? Nice and cheap too.
In fact I have some here leftover I could post you if you wanted to try them out?

sorry another one who can't help with the CD ...
I must try the Aldi or Lidl pull-ups, the only times I have remembered to look, they have only had nappies.
I put my 8 year old son in Tesco pull ups and also find Huggies ones are just about ok size wise.
It gives me the rage how much they charge for "pyjama pants", I was comparing them the other day and there is no difference whatsoever to pullups, just slightly more of the paper fabric making up the shape
Complete and utter rip off, and I wish the supermarkets would do their own labels to bring the prices down a bit.
Funky Mum that is shocking about your school nurse

Love, you don't need to wake her for a wee, just carry her through and plonk her on the loo and support her shoulders so she doesn't fall off (I *may* have not done this and my child *may* have fallen off the loo asleep, once
) But don't make her walk through to the bathroom, otherwise it'll wake her up too much.
