temping questiong

I have started temping. I started yesterday cd 5 and todays temp is lower I though it was supposed to keep rising until ovulation then drop? or have I got it wrong

Wrong way round, it goes up and stay elevated after ovulation, before that it can be a bit all over the place. If you are going to temp I would use fertility friend (lots of good info on there).

Mine always went up and down a bit, especially when I first started. They were never the same everyday, but there was a definite shift upwards in temperature after ovulation. Some people get a drop down right before the ovulate, but not everyone.

Are you waking the same time each day? Was there anything different about last night or this morning?

Fertility friend is great. Or countdown to pregnancy.

Yes pre OV it can be lower and higher, it will dip (only a bit) then rise. On the 3rd rise you can confirm OV. Your temp will then stay high. If you are pregnant it will stay high if not then it will drop day before AF comes.

If I can work out tomorrow Ill put my chart from fertility friend on here so you can see.

Mine would go up and down a bit but more from waking at different times also alcohol and illness can effect it too.

Mine also dropped a bit right before ov before going up again, it would then stay above my baseline before dropping either day of af or day after.

If I had an odd temp that really didn't fit towards the beginning or end of my cycle I'd select to ignore it on ff.

thanks I'm on fertility friend. The first one I'd forgotten I was temping so before taking it I rolled over a couple of times and spoken. would be good if you can work out how to post your chart sj, so I can see what they are supposed to look like
