    Tattoo removal or alteration

I don't know if this is the right board, couldn't really think where else to put it....

I have a small tattoo on my right hip that I hate, it's really really naff and I so regret getting it done (I was pished at uni, classy eh?)

Hennyway, I've been thinking a lot recently about getting it either removed or altered, but haven't got a clue how to go about either.

Has anyone been thru this? And if you've had it altered are you happy with the results?

Thank you in advance x x

No personal experience but my friend had a star on her foot that she hated (done badly and had faded over the years) and last year she had a new one over the top, a lovely sunflower which looks brilliant and you can't see the star at all. Have you got any ideas what you could replace it with?

It costs quite a bit to have them removed and can take a lot of laser sessions to get rid with no guarantee that it will completely fade. I know this local place does it if you want to look into it.

    Thanks Lilyb.

I would like to get it altered, I just don't know what I'd go for, it's essential that the original tattoo is not visible at ALL (cos its foul).

Its not that bad!!!! You need to go in and actually chat to a tattoo artist I think, they will be able to give you a good idea of how they can cover it and the sort of styles would be best. Would recommend In-Skin (I got mine done there) or Wild Cherry over in Tonbridge. Maybe you could have something to represent E?

I think covering it is definitely the best way to go, have seen a couple of tats that have been removed by lasers and the results are not good at all. Interestingly enough I also have one on my hip that I want altered, just trying to decide how!

I had one on my stomach altered - stretch marks from 2 kids completely ruined it.

I had a chat with the tattoo artist and he came up with a design to cover it and it looks really good

    Hola Chick!

If it is small small and not too solid I'd deffo go with a cover up, depending on what sort of style you'd want I could give you some recommendations, I know there is a chick in Rainham I think who.does awesome colour work, not sure what its called but where it has no black outline - not sure how that would work for a cover up though...

Personally, I'd recommend you having a think about the sort of style you'd like, research artists that do that style then go and have a chat with them to see what they suggest!

    Hope that helps chick!!

P.s. will be putting full pics of my new piece on FB later once I've given it a wash!! x
