    Stratford Upon Avon hotel/apartment recommendation

We've got a wedding in Stratford and only planning to stay one night but it seems a lot of the budget places have a proviso you need to stay 2 nights.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay in the town centre, for under £75/n.
    Thanks

We stayed in one on a Sat a couple of years ago which was 2 mins walk from the town centre, close enough for amenities but far enough to be quiet at night. Will try and remember what it was called, bear with me...

Found it - it was this place:

Apologies though it's not cheap. We stayed there with tesco vouchers i think and had a family room much cheaper than the laterooms price. Worth shopping around. is a bit tired, but nice enough and very traditional in decor. breakfast was lovely!

That's my local town! There's the one I think Lenny Henry advertises (brain fade can't think of the name) right in the town centre, and there's a new one on the Birmingham Road so 5 mins out of town but I'm not sure if that one is open yet, will have a look and get back to you...

eta They're both Premier Inn, have a scout on their website. The Waterways one is the one that's 5 mins out of the centre.

Where is the wedding actually taking place, is it somewhere in the town you want to be in walking distance of or do you just want to stay centrally? I know a few good places that friends have used but it depends which side of the town you need to be.

Have a look at QHotels - I took my girls there for a 'girlie weekend' last year and we only stayed for the Sat night. It was a lovely room with a big double bed and a double sofa bed. I think it was a little more than £75 - maybe £100, but it was really lovely and two mins walk into the town.

    Thanks ladies.
We've booked the waterways one, it's just under 2miles from the venue.
Any recommendations for an afternoon in Stratford and breakfast venues?

If you want a nice foodie place that's likely to be childfree you could try Grants (very yum and does breakfast) or Edward Moon (also yum) and Vintners (never been there but it's supposedly good), google for details. If you're more into cafes there are dozens and mostly good. They're everywhere in town, you can't go 20 yards and not be in sight of one!

Places to go depends on the weather, the river is still a favourite despite the Bancroft Garden not being very garden-y anymore! The LOs love the rowing boats on the river If the weather is manky then there's obviously shopping, or the Shakespeare birthplace centre thingy, Holy Trinity church is popular, there's loads of touristy type attractions, do a quick search and you can choose something you'd be interested in. Just remembered the Butterfly Farm, never been myself as I cannot stand butterflies and moths but it's supposed to be good!
